Tropics Software Technologies, Inc. (TST), the premier provider of solutions to the Workers Comp insurance industry, today unveils its exciting future plans and long-term market directions for the next generation of SOA-based software leveraging the latest in .NET 3.5 technology platforms. While underway since August of 2007, TST is now releasing the details regarding this significant undertaking.
New Direction: End-to-end Suite or Integral Products – Leveraging Common Services Foundation
The next generation of Tropics software will be based on Microsoft .NET and comprised of four major products: Tropics-POLICY, Tropics-CLAIMS, Tropics-BILLING, and Tropics-LP (Loss Prevention). These products can be deployed as a suite for an end-to-end workers’ compensation solution or separately to work in conjunction with other products or in-house systems. Each product is built upon a common service management foundation consisting of: Security, Configuration, Document, Messaging, Contact, and Rules-based Work Management services.
.NET Product Development Investment
Over the last year, a group of TST designers and architects have been working diligently on the next generation of software and have completed the basic framework including the database design, database layer, and most of the shared services. Work has now begun on the Business and User Interface layers.
To expedite development of the business and user interface layers, TST has selected a development partner to leverage a combination on-shore/off-shore model. The first release of the next generation of Tropics-POLICY is planned for mid-2009 with the Tropics-BILLING, Tropics-CLAIMS, and Tropics-LP products to follow quickly through 2009 and early-2010.
Full Support from Leadership
Mike Mobar, president and CEO of TST said: "By investing years of experience and domain expertise in workers’ compensation in a robust platform, we will be able to provide the industry with the best possible solution backed and supported by the most experienced staff in this space. We are very excited about the project and we know it is going to be an astounding success."
