 Tropics Software Technologies Announces Promotions

  • Kennon McCaa has been promoted from architectural analyst to director of development where he will oversee all technical and architectural aspects of product development. He will be working with other developers in establishing and maintaining standards of development, especially in .NET. He will also lead the WebTropics development team. Kennon has been with TST over six years. He holds a bachelor’s in mathematics education from the University of Minnesota as well as a master’s in education from St. Mary’s University.
  • Rob West has been promoted from administration manager & director of finance to chief financial officer (CFO). In addition to his current financial, infrastructure technology oversight, HR and office administration responsibilities, Rob will now oversee the business continuity project for the company. Rob has served as administration manager & director of finance for eight years and as treasurer of the corporation for seven years. He holds a degree in administrative management from the University of Illinois.
  • Claire Stone has been named director of product design. In this role, Claire will manage new product documentation and partner with developers to produce testing scenarios for quality assurance and training. She will also coordinate client proposals and will continue to lead the Tropics® Policy Enterprise System support team. Claire has been with TST for nine years. She received her education from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
  • Kelly Hinsberg was promoted from client support project manager to director of client services. In her new position, Kelly will assure that client requests are expedited by leveraging automated tools and software versioning procedures. She will continue to lead the Tropics® Policy Standard and Tropics® Claims System support team. Kelly has worked with TST for seven years. Prior to her work at Tropics, Kelly spent over 10 years working in and managing policy services departments as well as maintaining compliance within multiple state environments. She received her education from Florida State University.
  • Yifat Drucker has been promoted to manager of Tropics® Policy Enterprise System development. She will manage the policy development project and its developers. Yifat has worked as a Tropics software engineer for about nine years. Prior to her software career, Yifat worked as biochemistry researcher. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in chemistry from Tel-Aviv University in Israel.
  • Nicholas Albon has been promoted to manager of Tropics® Claims System development. He will manage the claim development project and its developers. Nick has worked as a Tropics claims project manager for about seven years. Prior to his employment at TST, Nick worked as a programmer/analyst in the healthcare and financial industries. He received his computer programming education in London, England.
  • Tropics Vice President Stephen Massingale has assumed an additional role – director of quality assurance. He will oversee the new quality assurance (QA) department and all of its QA and database activities. Stephen has been with the company for 11 years. Prior to joining Tropics, Stephen spent six years on US Navy submarines as a data systems technician and worked for several other IT departments in various corporations. Stephen holds a degree in computing and information sciences from Charleston Southern University.
