Tropics Logo  Web and User Interface Designer - Submit a Resume

Tropics Software Technology, located in Sarasota, Florida, is seeking a Web and User Interface Designer with skills in both web design and UI design to work on a six-month contract basis to develop the user interface for the next generation of the Tropics Software platform, which will be both a traditional web application and an ASP application. This individual will be instrumental in the building of a robust, scalable solution using the Microsoft platform consisting of ASP.NET (VB.NET/C#), Web Services, JavaScript, SOAP, and Ajax.

Candidates must have experience designing web pages and the entire user interface experience for commercial software and have expertise in designing the user interface in Microsoft Visual Studio.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all phases of the user interface design.
  • Design, develop, and test the user interface for web applications written in .NET with limited guidance.
  • Execute unit testing, integration testing, and acceptance testing.
  • Work closely with QA and Client Services.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in designing the user interface for web applications. Experience using Ajax, XHTML, JavaScript, and other associated technologies.
  • Have a background in design with the ability to also create graphics, icons, bitmaps, and the other elements that make for a professional web page and application.
  • Experience with portal technologies and executive dashboards.
  • Basic database experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server. The candidate does not need to be an expert at database work; but the expertise to link the user interface to the back-end is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Flash or Sliverlight is a plus.
  • Experience working in insurance, finance, or banking is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Candidates should have a design portfolio to demonstrate their prior work.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, web development, interactive design, or a related field.

  Product Support Specialists - Submit a Resume

Tropics Software Technologies, a nationwide software development company specializing in workers compensation software and services, is currently seeking career-oriented, self motivated, energetic, fast learning individuals for open positions within our Product Support team. Duties within this position include supporting clients on a day-to-day basis by providing telephone and e-mail assistance, as well as preparing, testing and documenting software releases. Occasional travel to client sites for deployment of releases and/or on-site training is also required. The qualified candidate must possess the following skills:

  • Prefer candidates with workers' compensation software and processing knowledge in the following areas:
    • For the Claims Support position the candidate must have experience with First Notice of Injury and Claims processing with a carrier, TPA, or claims processing organization.
    • For the Policy Support position, experience with an WC Insurance Company, Carrier, MGA, TPA, or Insurance Agency is desirable

  Marketing & Sales Coordinator - Submit a Resume

The Marketing & Sales Coordinator is responsible for implementing the marketing and communications plan of the organization with assistance from company and external sources. The position also requires coordination and participation in other sale and administrative activities explained under job duties.

Requirements

College degree preferably in marketing or a related discipline
2 yeas or more experience in marketing, public relations, sales preferably related to technology

Job Duties

The qualified person must be capable of performing the following job duties and be able to demonstrate skills, a proven track record, and/or an aptitude for performing these duties.

  • Absorb, understand and keep up to date with Tropics products, their utility, and the target market
  • Facilitate and participate in sales activities especially with information dissemination and follow ups. Help sales staff with prospect management, sales demos, follow up, onsite sales visits, RFI and RFP responses, and other sales related activities
  • Develop message content and production of all written materials and communication vehicles (website, newsletter, etc.). Keep updated marketing materials and help keeping the company’s web site in style and robust with up to date product information, news, etc.  
  • Work with the president and outside marketing/advertising experts to create a comprehensive marketing campaign
  • Coordinate and develop content for marketing and public relations communication
    and placement of advertisements in electronic and print media as planned
  • Maintain media relations, plan and execute public relations and media efforts. Craft messaging and media communication strategies. Create and distribute press releases.
